Coffee is a pretty big staple in college life, what with the late nights partying, the early morning classes, and the long hours working and studying. And some students, if they are not careful, can become coffee addicts.

Urban Dictionary defines a coffee addict as “one who depends on the drinking of coffee more than the average individual [and] sometimes heads will roll if coffee is not ingested!”

A secondary definition and example was, “CoffeeAddict is a guy that is so hot you’d just love to have him in your bed. This guy likes nothing [more] than to have fun. This guy is handsome, cute, funny and cool, i.e, Ash: OMG, YOUR SUCH A COFFEEADDICT! James: Thanks, babe.”

While most student coffee addicts are more like the former, there is a way to channel your love, nay, addiction to coffee in a more constructive way: through coffee themed décor for your apartment!

Here are some ideas to help you find a way to display your coffee love in your apartment!

Decorative Mason Jars

Mason jars are definitely coming back into trend. So use these hip (and hipster) containers to show off your coffee collection! Think of it as a multi-purpose display: your coffees will be in easy reach and you will be able to tell which coffee is which very quickly and easily. If you make sure to screw tight the lid of the mason jar between uses, your coffee will stay fresh but allow that glorious coffee aroma to constantly mingle in the air.

Different coffees have different hues and you can mix and match these shades as you please. And if anyone comments saying they all look the same, you can show off your coffee smarts and expertise and explain to them exactly why this coffee is different from that coffee, gosh!

This can also be a great way to add earth tones to your home décor, or if your home is already decorated in earth tones, keep within the same color palette.

Coffee Pots From Around the World

We all collect things, right? From stamps to baseball cards and beyond. So why not collect something related to coffee, the nectar of your life? Coffee is an important part of many cultures and has been for centuries, so why not celebrate that?

Apparently, “… the formation of culture around coffee and coffeehouses dates back to 14th century Turkey. Coffeehouses in Western Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean were traditionally social hubs, as well as artistic and intellectual centers.”

Why not give your home that same kind of vibe and become a place to foster and support creative and intellectual pursuits? You can make your apartment the place that everyone wants to hang out at with a sophisticated and worldly air. Do this by having coffee pots and other coffee related memorabilia from different countries and throughout the years displayed in your home.

Some pieces you find might be too old or too precious to use, but some you may be able to actually use when serving which can give your coffee drinking experience a totally different vibe. How cool would it be to serve your friends Turkish coffee from a delightfully ornate pot? It can be both practical and beautiful.

Display Your Coffee Making Process

If you are a coffee lover that loves to use interesting and unique gadgets and technology to make your coffee, why not display them? They can be impressive and a show piece all on their own. Guests to your home might ask you about them and how they work — if they can even recognize that it makes coffee. You can even make making the coffee part of the routine. Have your guests participate or allow them to watch the process of making the coffee and show off your gadgets and all the cool stuff they can do to your coffee.

If you want to take it one step further and are a true, bonafide coffee addict, you can make the coffee making process a part of your décor all around your apartment. Especially if you are into cold brewing, you can have the glass tubing that is necessary to the process and have it wrap around the walls and ceiling of your apartment.

If you are doing a thorough job, it can take days for your coffee to brew and then drip. Have it all around your apartment so you can watch the coffee as it’s brewing. It is definitely a show piece that will wow guests with something they have never seen before (as well as impress them with some truly awesome coffee). Even for yourself, it can be something you use to sit back, watch, and relax while you are waiting to drink your coffee or to surreptitiously sip from your mug as you watch the process happen.
